Research

My PhD research focused on working with people with hearing loss to develop technology to enhance their acquisition of speechreading (commonly called lipreading).

My research areas broadly cover Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility & Assistive Technologies, and User Experience.

Within this I am interested in:

How can metadata within video and audio increase viewing experiences of media.

How can we increase accessibility of content for people with disabilities.

How can human involvement increase the applicability of GenerativeAI and other AI tools.
